NAR’s Leading with Diversity program offers resources and support for local and state REALTOR® Associations seeking to increase the inclusion diversity in their leadership.
In order to be a strong voice for real estate in our communities, diversity in our leadership can help our associations represent all the communities and demographic groups in our market area. Making sure our association reflects and includes leaders who serve all parts of our market will make our associations better advocates for homeownership and private property rights. It will build our commitment to ethics and make sure our association is meeting member needs regardless of the communities they serve.
NAR partners with four national multicultural real estate organizations to address shared real estate policy issues and to better serve REALTORS® who also hold membership in those organizations. Partnering with local chapters or boards of these organizations can be effective in engaging a more diverse membership base and expanding perspectives regarding the local real estate market.
Local Multicultural Real Estate Organizations
Over the past twenty years, local chapters and boards of national multicultural real estate organizations have grown and expanded in many cities. Local REALTOR® Associations often develop close working relationships which have benefits both organizations. At the same time, NAR has improved and strengthened its relationship with the national multicultural organizations, seeing increased diversity on NAR committees, coalition advocacy on issues such as access to credit and homeownership.
